Creating an Curtsy app for the iPad. Cutsy is an e-commerce app that allows it users to buy and sell gently used clothing. Unfortunately, they do not have an updated iPad app. So the challenge is to design an iPad app that is user friendly for their brand.
Role: UI / UX, Redesign, User Testing
Team: Arielle Morris
Challenge:  Converting a portrait app into landscape mode without dramatically affecting user behavior and keeping the visuals intact. Also, taking advantage of the bigger screen by adding some neat features.
Goal: Designing the app into landscape mode instead of portrait, since holding the iPad in portrait mode is not ideal for finger gestures and also quite tiring. Landscape mode will be more comfortable and efficient for the user.

Step 1: Heat mapping the finger gestures
I invited some friends for a little research about their behaviour while using an iPad. Almost all of them preferred landscape mode and used the left and right 1/3 of the screen for finger gestures.
Step 3: Assets, the grid, and wireframe
Step 3: Interface Design
Home
UI elements are placed to be easily accessible via right or center.  Majority of scrolling will take place via left thumb or right thumb.
Experience
Search elements are placed to the left of page for better usability and comfort. Browse items easily by scrolling via right.
Functionalities
Tapping a post switches to full screen for a finer view.  Bigger post size for a impressive presentation.  We are taking advantage of the iPad's full display.
Profile
This points to another way of characterizing the elegance  & parsimony distinction, in terms of simplicity of theory versus simplicity of world.
